Areas
Lounges
for visitors have been set aside on each patient floor and in the first
floor lobby. Specific waiting areas also have been made available to
families of patients in the Intensive Care Unit, the Surgery Center, Labor
and Delivery and the Emergency department. There are usually volunteer
hostesses available to assist visitors in the Surgery Center.
Visiting
Hours
Mercy Memorial's visiting hours are from 7 am to 9 pm in all but a few
patient areas. Other visits may be arranged according to patient wishes.
The Intensive Care Unit has specific visiting hours to allow patients to get as
much rest as possible and speed their recovery.

Guidelines
To support quality care for patients, visitors are asked to observe a
few guidelines:

Mercy
Memorial is a tobacco-free campus. Visitors may not smoke in patient
rooms or
on hospital grounds.

Visitors
should dress appropriately and must wear a shirt and shoes.

The
number of visitors in a patient's room is restricted by the location
of the room. Please check with the nurse and observe the limit.

Visitors
with colds, sore throats or any contagious disease should not visit
patients.

Visits
should be kept short.

Visitors
should maintain a quiet environment and avoid unnecessary noise.

Visitors
may be asked to leave the room during tests or treatment, or when the
physician or nurse needs to see the patient.

Visitors
should not bring food or beverages to patients unless approved by your
doctor or nurse.
